Matlacha Isles- Matlacha Shores is a census -designated place (CDP ) in Lee County in the U.S. state of Florida with 229 inhabitants (as of 2010).

Geography

Matlacha Isles- Matlacha Shores is located on the Gulf of Mexico and adjacent to the city of Cape Coral. The CDP is located approximately 21 kilometers west of Fort Myers. Tampa is located about 190 miles and Miami 250 km away.

Demographics

According to the 2010 census, the then 229 inhabitants distributed in 177 households. The population density was 381.7 inh. / Km ². 98.3 % of the population were white, 0.4% Native American and 3.1% Asian Americans. 3.5% of the population were Hispanic or Latino.

In 2010, children under the age of 18 and 55.7 % of all households lived in 6.6 % of all households with persons at least 65 years. 59.7 % of households were family households (consisting of married couples with or without offspring or a parent with offspring ). The average size of a household was 1.88 persons and the average family size is 2.34 people.

6.9% of the population were younger than 20 years, 8.3% were 20 to 39 years old, 31.0 % were 40-59 years old and 53.7 % were at least 60 years old. The median age was 62 years. 51.5 % of the population were male and 48.5 % female.
