Punta Rassa is a census -designated place (CDP ) in Lee County in the U.S. state of Florida with 1,750 inhabitants ( 2010).

Geography

Punta Rassa is located at the mouth of the Caloosahatchee River into the Gulf of Mexico and about 15 km southwest of Fort Myers. Tampa is located about 220 miles and Miami 230 km away.

Demographics

According to the 2010 census, the then 1,750 inhabitants distributed to 1,436 households. The population density was 286.9 inh. / Km ². 99.0 % of the population were white, 0.9% African American and 0.2 % Asian Americans. 0.5 % of the population were Hispanic or Latino.

In 2010, children under the age of 18 and 91.2 % of all households lived in 1.7 % of all households with persons at least 65 years. 44.7 % of households were family households (consisting of married couples with or without offspring or a parent with offspring ). The average size of a household was 1.51 persons and the average family size is 2.08 people.
