Pineland is a census -designated place (CDP ) in Lee County in the U.S. state of Florida with 407 inhabitants (as of 2010).

Geography

Pineland is located in the north of the island Pine Iceland. The island is connected by a bridge to Cape Coral. The CDP is located approximately 34 kilometers west of Fort Myers, and about 210 miles from Tampa and 260 miles from Miami.

Demographics

According to the 2010 census, the then 407 inhabitants distributed in 294 households. The population density was 169.6 inh. / Km ². 94.8 % of the population were white. 1.5% were members of other ethnic groups and 3.7% in different ethnic groups. 5.2% of the population were Hispanic or Latino.

In 2010, children under the age of 18 and 49.0 % of all households lived in 8.7 % of all households with persons at least 65 years. 63.0 % of households were family households (consisting of married couples with or without offspring or a parent with offspring ). The average size of a household was 1.96 persons and the average family size is 2.37 people.

9.2% of the population were younger than 20 years, 9.2% were 20 to 39 years old, 31.9% were 40-59 years old and 49.9 % were at least 60 years old. The median age was 60 years. 47.2 % of the population were male and 52.8 % female.

The average annual income was $ 38,487, while no one was living under the poverty line.

In 2000, English was the mother tongue of 100 % of the population.
