Frutten - Gießelsdorf is a municipality with 629 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2013 ) in the south- east of Styria in the district of Southeastern Styria. From 1 January 2015 it has joined forces framework of the Styrian municipality structural reform with the town of Sankt Anna am Aigen, the new community will continue to use the name " Sankt Anna am Aigen ".

Geographical Location

Frutten - Gießelsdorf is approximately 47 km south-east of Graz, about 15 km south of the district capital field creek in East Styrian Hill Country.

The municipality comprises the cadastral Frutten, Gießelsdorf and Hochstraden.

The council consists of nine members and is since the municipal elections 2010 mandates the following parties together:

  • 7 ÖVP - provides the Mayor and the Deputy Mayor
  • Two SPÖ

Coat of arms

The award of the municipality coat of arms was made with effect from 1 September 1996. Coat Description: Red golden over a three triangles spruce in Furchenstich under edge grooves Copper Age neunblättriger a cup, four grape -bearing vine in the form of a tree of life.
