Gassin

Gassin is a commune with 2832 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2011), which belongs to the Var and the Provence- Alpes- Côte d' Azur region. From the association Les Plus Beaux Villages de France Gassin was declared one of the most beautiful villages in France.

Geography

Gassin is located about four kilometers from the sea on a rocky hill in the middle of the peninsula of Saint- Tropez.

Attractions

The village has received with its winding streets and ancient houses an original character. Interesting is already outstanding in the literal sense position that offers a panoramic view of vineyards, forests and the Gulf of Saint- Tropez. From the ever further up fortifications, this view extends to the Iles d' Hyères, the Massif des Maures and in good view to the snow capped peaks of the French Alps.

Personalities

Gassin is the birthplace of French actresses Emmanuelle Béart ( born 1963 ) and Sarah Biasini ( b. 1977 ).
