Grimacco

Grimacco ( GRIMAC Friulian, Slovenian Garmak ) is a municipality ( comune ) in the Friuli- Venezia Giulia in northeastern Italy, in the province of Udine and has 367 inhabitants (as at 31 December 2012). The village is located approximately 27.5 km east-northeast of Udine, on the border with Slovenia. The administrative center of the municipality is located in the district Clodig.

The community Grimacco includes the following locations: Brida superiore ( Gorenje Bardo ), Brida inferior ( Dolenje Bardo ), Canalaz ( Kanalac ) Clodig ( Hlodič ) Costne ( Hostne ), Dolina ( Dolina ), Grimacco Inferiore ( Dolenji Garmak ) Grimacco Superiore ( Gorenji Garmak ) Liessa ( Liesa ), Lombai ( Lombaj ) Plataz ( Platac ) Podlach ( Podlak ) Seuza ( Selce '), Slapovicco ( Slapovik ) Sverinaz ( Zverinac ) Topolò ( Topolove ), Ville di Mezzo. The Town Hall is located in the district Clodig.

Population and language

About 70-90 % of the population are native speakers of Slovenian. A more precise definition is not possible, since the last census was conducted with recording of speech membership in 1971.

Since 1994, the international cultural festival Stazione Topolò found in Topolò - Postaja Topolove instead. In June / July, meet artists from many countries to exhibit works of art in topology, perform plays and making music.
