Marano Lagunare

Marano ( Friulian Maran ) is a town and fishing port in the province of Udine, not far from Grado with 1931 inhabitants ( 31 December 2012). It was built 81 BC as Legion city. 1543 Marano was conquered by Venice. Of the ancient city walls Marano today is nothing more to see, nor the end of the 19th century these were available. In the city of the Venetian language spoken although the whole province of Udine / pastures is friaulischsprachig and the website of the municipality is trilingual today: Italian, Venetic Marano and English.

The center of Marano is the " Granda " mentioned place, which is dominated by a more than 1000 year old tower.
