Grimbergen is a Belgian municipality located in the province of Flemish Brabant in the Flemish region with 35,810 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2012). It lies on the northern edge of the Brussels agglomeration and is next to the eponymous capital of the districts Beigem, Humbeek and Strombeek -Bever.

The city center of Brussels is 10 kilometers (km ) south, 13 km north- west Mechelen and Antwerp 32 km north.

The nearest motorway exits are Grimbergen and Vilvoorde Brussels on the northern ring road as well as tit on the A12 to the west. In Schaerbeek / Schaerbeek and Vilvoorde are the next regional stations in Brussels and also keep on regional express trains. The Brussels National Airport near the capital, about 10 km east of the municipality of Grimbergen is an airport of international importance.

The place is also known by the Grimbergen abbey beer, brewed there since 1958 by the Belgian brewery group Alken-Maes.
