Halbenrain

Halbenrain is a market town with 1775 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2013 ) in the southeast of the Austrian province of Styria in the judicial district of Bad Radkersburg or in the political district of Southeastern Styria.

Geographical location

Halbenrain situated at an altitude of 220 m in the so-called Styrian volcano land, about five kilometers west of Bad Radkersburg.

Sports

2002 instead of the Styrian extreme cyclist Wolfgang Fasching a 24 - hour world record in the individual time trial with 856 km in Halbenrain on. This tradition is also Halbenrain annual stopover at the Race Around Austria, an extreme bike race along the border roads around Austria.

In Sport Club Union Raiba Half grove short SVU Raiba Half grove, football is played. In Halbenrain and Unterpurkla there Eisschützenvereine.

Summer Academy

In the granary of Castle Halbenrain is the International Summer Academy of Fine Arts and Hoke school Hortus Niger. Are taught painting, graphic and sculptural design in wood, stone and clay. Speakers will include, inter alia Giselbert Hoke, Gerald Brettschuh, ONA example.

Traffic

The community Halbenrain has two stations on the Radkersburger train, these are Purkla and Halbenrain. All one to two hours courses of the S -Bahn Steiermark Graz or Bad Radkersburg.

Coat of arms

The award of the municipality coat of arms was made with effect from 1 August 1981.

The blazon of the arms is: Sable, a silver stag leaping over a growing out of the diamond-shaped sign foot braided silver thorn fence.
