Kiens

Kien (Italian: Chienes ) is a municipality located in the Val Pusteria with 2711 inhabitants ( 31 December 2012) in South Tyrol (Italy).

Geography

The municipality is located in Kien lower Pusteria in northeastern South Tyrol and extends with its total area of ​​33.84 km ² from the valley floor up to the heights of the Talzug accompanying ridges up. The largest village settlements are lined up near the valley floor of the running east -west direction between the Val Pusteria Vintl and St. Lorenzen. On debris cones north of the main town are Rienz Kien ( 770-860 m asl ) and a little west, the fraction St. Sigmund ( 760-810 m), across from Kien and is beyond the Rienz Ehrenburg ( 780-830 m).
