Kornberg at Rieger Castle is a municipality with 1126 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2013 ) in the south- east of Styria in the district of Southeastern Styria. From 1 January 2015, is the framework of the Styrian municipality structural reform with the market town of Rieger castle and the communities Breitenfeld on the Rittschein and Lödersdorf together, the new community will be called "Rieger castle ".

Geographical Location

Kornberg at Rieger castle is located about 37 km east of Graz and 2 km north-east of the district capital field creek in East Styrian Hill Country.

Coat of arms

The award of the municipality coat of arms came into effect on 1 January 1994. Coat Description: In a growing gold up to the upper plate edge crenellated, blue lace, topped with a golden straw wreath, sullied with three golden ears of corn, one upright, the other two sides downward growing.

Culture and sights

  • Kornberg is also known by the Kornberg, are organized on the vault in the hall of knights knights meal. In the castle hosts events. Attached is an equestrian club.
  • In Bergl the now widely known beyond the borders of Zotter chocolate factory is located.
