Mark Lewis-Francis
Mark Lewis - Francis ( born September 4, 1982 in Birmingham ) is a British sprinter and relay gold medalist.
Already in the field of youth, he enjoyed great success: he was European Vice-Champion in the 100 - meter race, 1999 World Junior Champion over the same distance, 2000 world junior champion over 100 meters and the 4 x 100 - meter relay and 2001 Junior 1999 European champions. Also in 2001 he ran in the 100 meters in Edmonton 9,97 s, because of questionable wind measurement time, however, was not included in the leaderboards.
Even in the adult area, he concentrated on shortest sprints, 60 meters in Hall and 100 meters outdoors. At the World Indoor Championships in Lisbon in 2001 he won the bronze medal over 60 meters, two years later at the World Indoor Championships in Birmingham, he was fourth.
