Masseret

Masseret ( Mas sera in Occitan ) is a commune with 679 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the department of Corrèze, in the Limousin region. The municipality is a member of the Association of Municipalities Pays d' Uzerche. The inhabitants call themselves Masserétois (it).

Geography

The community lies on the edge of the Massif Central and is adjacent to Salon -la-Tour, the entrance gate to the Corrèze. The center is situated on a hill overlooking the mountain pass, which allows the passage between the skin and Bas- Limousin. The river originates Auvézère in the municipality of Masseret.

Tulle, prefecture of the department is located, about 40 kilometers south-east, Brive- la -Gaillarde 50 miles south and Uzerche about 14 kilometers southeast. The village is located just off junction 43 of the A20 Motorway.

Neighboring communities of La Porcherie Masseret are in the north, Lamongerie in the east, Salon- la-Tour in the south and Benayes in the West.
