Meilhards

Meilhards ( Melhars in Occitan ) is a commune with 516 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the department of Corrèze, in the Limousin region. The municipality is a member of the Association of Municipalities Pays d' Uzerche. The inhabitants call themselves Meilhardois (it).

Geography

The municipality is located in the Massif Central at the foot of the Plateau de Millevaches left side on the upper reaches of the Vézère.

Tulle, prefecture of the department is located, about 35 kilometers south-east, Brive- la -Gaillarde 50 miles south Uzerche and about 15 kilometers south-west. The location is approximately 13 kilometers from the exit 43 of the A20 Motorway away.

Neighboring communities of Meilhards are Surdoux in the north, Cham Beret in the northeast, Soudaine - Lavinadière and Rilhac- Treignac in the east, Peyrissac and Eyburie the southeast, Condat- sur -Ganaveix in the south, Lamongerie in the west and La Croisille -sur- Briance Northwest.
