Maximilian Mutzke

Max Mutzke (born 21 May 1981 in Krenkingen as Maximilian Nepomuk Mutzke ) is a German singer, songwriter and musician. His music is a mixture of pop - rock, soul, funk and jazz. He sings in German and English.

Private

Mutzke was born in 1981 in the southern Baden Krenkingen as the son of an actress and a gynecologist and has five siblings; jazz trumpeter Menzel Mutzke is his brother. He and his partner have children together.

Career

Euro Vision Song Contest

Max Mutzke began his singing career in the radio band Project Five. He had in 2004 as winner of " SSDSGPS " (Stefan seeks the super Grand- Prix -Star), a casting competition, Stefan Raab totally organized as part of its TV ProSieben show his breakthrough. In the final mission on 19 February 2004 Mutzke won the phone vote for himself and won against the two remaining competitors. Albums and tours

After passing the baccalaureate at the commercial high school in Waldshut- Tiengen in June 2004 Mutzke worked together with his producer Stefan Raab on his first album Max Mutzke. The first single, 2004 Black was coupled on white in November - a song he had recorded in 2002 with his funk band Project Five and dedicated his girlfriend. The album was released on 10 January 2005 and debuted at number one in the German album charts. It stayed for six weeks in the top ten.

First arranged as a showcase for the press concerts in Cologne and Hamburg followed shortly after the album's release. Due to popular demand, there was still an additional concert in Hamburg. From May to June 2005 was followed by a club tour with 22 concerts in Germany and Switzerland.

Two years after the last release, the single was My automobile on the market. The single was among the top 30 of the charts. On 8 June 2007 Mutzkes appeared second album ... from the abdomen. Most of the songs were re-written in the Mutzke / Raab constellation and composed, and the album was produced by Stefan Raab. On November 28, appeared in 2008 Mutzkes album Black Forest. For the English-language album Mutzke worked this time together with producers Michael Kersting and Oliver Rüger. The first single Marie appeared on 7 November 2008 as a download track and on 16 January 2009 as a single and reached number 24 of the singles chart and thus was his fourth top 30 hit of his career. In December 2009, a Christmas version of the already published on the album Black Forest Songs New Day appeared.

On September 24, 2010 Mutzke released his fourth album Homework Soul. In addition to his own compositions, this includes among other material by Robert Koch, Oli Rüger and British R & B singer Lemar, who wrote the accompanying single Let It Happen.

2012 was followed by a mess with " Jazz Album " ( Jazz Thing ), which he recorded with a trio of Roberto Di Gioia, bassist Andreas Kurz and Wolfgang Haffner and guest musicians like Klaus Doldinger, Nils Landgren, Götz Alsmann, Thomas D, Cassandra Steen and Sebastian Studnitzky. Other activities

  • Together with Stefan Raab and Rick Kavanian sang Mutzke under the TV Total Stock Car Crash Challenge 2005 Dicks On Fire song I Want skirt. Of 2007, Dicks On Fire on together with the metal band Rage and sang the song Superbad Motherfucker.
  • In 2006 Mutzke was the opening act for Katie Melua on tour.
  • 2008 Max Mutzke was one of the guest singers on the album Hell's Kitchen Braunschweig Jazzkantine. On the album, he was represented with the AC / DC cover of Back in Black.
