Mestes

Mestes ( Mestas in Occitan ) is a commune with 361 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the department of Corrèze, in the Limousin region. The municipality is a member of the Association of Municipalities Ussel - Meymac - Haute- Corrèze.

Geography

The municipality is located in the Massif Central from the south Millevaches Plateau and the Regional Natural Park Millevaches en Limousin on the right bank of the Diège, a right tributary of the Dordogne.

Tulle, prefecture of the department is located, about 60 kilometers south-west, about six kilometers north Ussel and Bort- les- Orgues about 20 kilometers southeast.

Neighboring communities of Mestes are Ussel in the north, Saint- Exupéry -les -Roches in the east, Chirac -Bellevue in the south and Valiergues and Saint-Angel in the West.

Traffic

The village is located about seven kilometers south-east of junction 23 of the A89 autoroute.
