Mirinda Carfrae

Mirinda Carfrae (born 26 March 1981) is an Australian triathlete, half-distance world champion (2007) and reigning Ironman World Champion (2010, 2013).

Career

Mirinda Carfrae Triathlon started in 2000 and launched from 2001 to 2005 for Australia at the World Championships of the International Triathlon Union via the short distance where they both 2002 and 2003 reached the silver medals. In Nice, she won in 2004 for the first time the long distance and 2005, she was behind the Belgian Kathleen Smet second in the World Cup over the long distance.

In 2007 she became the Ironman 70.3 World Champion ( half-distance: 1,9 km swimming, 90 km cycling and 21.1 km running).

In October 2010, during her second start in Hawaii also world champion at the Ironman distance ( 3.86 km swim, 180.2 km bike, 42.195 km running). 2013, it was able to repeat this success and undercut with her winning time of 8:52:14 hours here the track record of the British Chrissie Wellington by nearly two minutes.

Mirinda Carfrae is coached by Siri Lindley and now lives in Logan City (Queensland ). Her nickname is " Rinnie ".
