Mörsdorf, Thuringia

Morsdorf is a municipality in the Thuringian Saale- wood - country circuit and part of the joint management Hermsdorf.

Geography

The village is located about two kilometers northeast of Quirla in the immediate vicinity of the north running through A 4 Morsdorf leads the road L 1076 Stadtroda direction Reichenbach. Morsdorf is located on a ridge between the rivers Saale and White Elster in a small valley floor (old town center ). The place does not have a flowing body of water that Mörsdorfer area but provided plenty of groundwater, all ponds are filled with groundwater.

History

The village was first mentioned in 1457. According to local chronicle the place was called in 1150 Mertensdorf or Martin village, from 1520 there was talk of Mersdorf, 1600 by Morsdorf. Di first settlers of the area were the sorbent to 900, but had to give way warlike Germanic tribes. From the west and southwest migrated francs and a Thuringian forest because of the wealth and fertile soils.

Attractions

One of the attractions of the place is the village church Morsdorf ( position → 50.87120326111111.801134943889 ) in the village center. It harbors a Gerhard organ from 1765.
