Tautenhain, Thuringia

Tautenhain is a municipality in the east of the Saale- wood - country circuit and fulfilling part of municipality Bad Klosterlausnitz. It is one of the wooden country churches, which gave the district a part of his name.

History

On January 13, 1284, the village was first mentioned in records. Above the sky base 2 km east of the city on Castle Städel there was a castle. It was probably a high medieval manor.

On the way to the Battle of Jena- Auerstedt attracted 1806 - by Koestritz Coming - Napoleon's troops through the village, who left behind a broken gun. After this is the Gasthof "Zur cannon " named.

Tautenhain was until 1974 a health resort. The deployment of missile troops of the NVA in the nearby forest to 135 ha was the occasion, the place to escape the visit by travelers. The units of the 3rd Brigade missiles were stationed on May 1975-1990 here.

In the resort, the District Department of Agriculture and later a follower of experts, technicians and laboratory assistants worked from about 1960. Thus, the agricultural library was moved to the Faculty of Agriculture Jena resolution to Tautenhain 1962 after the university reform. On 31 December 1991, the Taut Hainer facility was settled and shifted back to the LUFA library Jena based in Zwätzen. and

Culture and sights

The annual Maypole set is known far beyond the borders of the region and for the younger ones there is even a children's maypole setting.

The Musikverein Tautenhain eV contributes a great contribution to culture in the country wood church. The 16 active musicians playing in addition to the traditional brass band and modern arrangements.
