Nathaniel Appleton Haven

Nathaniel Appleton Haven ( born July 19, 1762 Portsmouth, New Hampshire, † March 13, 1831 ) was an American politician. Between 1809 and 1811 he represented the State of New Hampshire in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Career

After a good primary education Nathaniel Haven to 1779 studied at Harvard College, which later became Harvard University, Medicine. After qualifying as a doctor, he began to practice in his hometown of Portsmouth. He was also engaged in trade. In the final phase of the war of independence Haven was employed as a ship's doctor.

Politically Haven member of the Federalist Party, founded by Alexander Hamilton. In the congressional elections of 1808, which were held all across the state, he was the fourth parliamentary seat from New Hampshire in the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington DC selected. There he entered on March 4, 1809, to succeed Jedediah K. Smith. But until March 3, 1811, he was able to complete only one term in Congress.

After the end of his time in the House of Representatives Nathaniel Haven is no longer politically have appeared. He died on 13 March 1831 in his hometown of Portsmouth.
