History

Núñez was founded together with the adjacent Saavedra Don Florencio Emeterio Núñez. On April 27, 1873, the railway line was opened, after that, the land was parceled out and built. Da Don Núñez has donated the land for the station, the station and the neighborhood were named after him.

Today, the district is characterized by the multi-storey development and commercial activities, especially along Avenida Cabildo and Avenida del Libertador. The residential streets with their villas, however, are quite pretty and somewhat exclusive, as in the other northern districts. There are two places: the Balcarce Plaza and Plaza Félix Lima. It is also home sports clubs and recreational areas.
