Péret-Bel-Air

Péret -Bel-Air is a commune of 106 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the department of Corrèze, in the Limousin region. The municipality is a member of the Association of Municipalities Ventadour. The inhabitants call themselves Pérétois (it).

Geography

The municipality is located in the Massif Central on the edge of the Plateau de Millevaches and thus also in the Regional Natural Park Millevaches en Limousin, about four kilometers north of Autoroute A89. The village is located on a hill of about 800 meters above sea level, so the place is among the highest in the Limousin.

Tulle, prefecture of the department is located, about 35 kilometers south-west, Égletons about ten kilometers to the south and Ussel approximately 25 kilometers north-east.

Neighboring communities of Péret - Bel-Air Davignac in the northeast, Soudeilles in the Southeast, Égletons in the south, Saint- Yrieix -le- Déjalat in the west and Bonnefond in the northwest.

Interestingly, the Moor of Bonnefond / Péret -Bel-Air in the northern part of the municipality. It is classified as a Special Protection Area under Natura 2000 since 1998. There you can find in France rare plants such as rosemary and sundew.

Traffic

The Autoroute A89 is accessible via exit 22 at Égletons.

History

The origins of the church date back to the Middle Ages. The name Péret - Bel-air goes back to the Latin pyrus. Was in Occitan later Peretó it. Péret so the place was called up to the beginning of the 20th century, in 1919, the place in Péret -Bel-Air has been renamed.
