Quiliano

Quiliano ( in Ligurian: Cüggiæn ) is a municipality with 7333 inhabitants ( 31 December 2012) in the Italian region of Liguria. Politically it belongs to the province of Savona.

Geography

The municipality is located in the hinterland between Savona and Vado Ligure on the left bank of the river of the same name. Quiliano belongs to the Comunità Montana del Giovo. From the provincial capital of the community is approximately seven kilometers away.

In 2006, her Bandiera Verde Legambiente was awarded.

The territory of the city includes both lands in the Ligurian Alps as well as in the Ligurian Apennines.

According to the Italian classifications for seismic activity Quiliano Zone 4 has been assigned. This means that the municipality is in a seismically inert zone.

Quiliano maintains partnerships with the Slovenian municipality of Ajdovščina as well as with the British Great Wyrley.
