Rümligen Castle is a castle in the municipality Rümligen, Canton Bern, Switzerland. Castle, farm estate and parking are privately owned and are not open to the public.

History

The castle Rümligen emerged at the end of the 11th century as the seat of the Barons of Rümligen on the eastern slope of the Längenberg above the upper Guerbetal. The oldest part is the keep, which is now topped by a mansard roof. 1515 came Rümligen Burkhard contactor and 1634 to Hans Rudolf von Erlach.

1684 Rümligen from Bern Schultheissen Samuel Frisching ( II ) was purchased. This left around 1710 to build the residential building and remodel the castle into a baroque palace. Since then lock Rümligen was until today always passed on in the family. Johann Rudolf von Frisching (1761-1838), son of Franz Rudolf Frisching (of Schlosswil ), came by marriage with Elisabeth Sophie of Frisching (of Rümligen ) ( 1773-1813 ) in the possession of the castle Rümligen. After his death in 1838 it fell to his daughter Sophie Rosine of Frisching and their spouses Friedrich Ludwig von Wattenwyl.

From 1927 to 1980, the castle Elisabeth de Meuron from Tscharner, daughter of Ludwig von Tscharner and Anna ( nee von Wattenwyl ), then from 1980 to 2012 her granddaughter Sibylle von Stockar - Scherer -Castell. Belonged
