Sabine Heß

Sabine Hess ( born October 1, 1958 in Dresden, after marriage Sabine Schubert) is a former rower from the GDR. She won Olympic gold in 1976 in the foursomes with control women.

Sabine Hess worked as a tax woman already GDR youth champion with the sculls of the SC Einheit Dresden. In 1975, she took the sculls third place in the GDR championships.

At the 1976 Olympic Games in Montreal, the woman Rowing had its Olympic debut. The boats from the GDR won in the six boat classes four gold medals and two silver medals. The first decision was in the foursome with coxswain, where the Dresden boat with Karin Metze, Bianka Swede, Gabriele Lohs, Andrea Kurth and tax Sabine Hess won the first Olympic gold medal in the women's rowing. 1977 were all five rowers from the gold - four in the eighth, who won in Amsterdam the third world title in a row. 1978 occupied the Dresdner four second place in the GDR championships and qualified not for the world championships.

In 1976 she was awarded the Patriotic Order of Merit in silver.

The trained cribs educator worked in Dresden at the crib Association.
