Coat of arms

The coat of arms description reads: Split; front in gold a red reinforced black eagle at the opening, later in two diagonally crossed silver, red short swords ( Saxe ).

Meaning: Saxony once belonged to rule Lichtenau which came into the possession of the imperial city of Nuremberg in 1406. Since the mid-15th century, the kingdom of alms was in Nuremberg, the sole landowner in the village. This strong link with Nuremberg comes through the acquisition of the front part of the small Nuremberg coat of arms ( with altered reinforcement) for expression. The two crossed swords short Saxe are speaking for the community name and remember that the founders of the village were resettled around the turn of the 8th to the 9th century forcibly.
