Saint-Bonnet-près-Bort

Saint -Bonnet- près- Bort ( Sent Bonet prep Baurt in Occitan ) is a commune of 191 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the department of Corrèze, in the Limousin region. The municipality is a member of the Association of Municipalities Plateau Bortois.

Geography

The municipality is located in the Massif Central to the west of the Dordogne, and thus also close to the border of the Cantal.

Tulle, prefecture of the department is located, about 70 kilometers south-west, Ussel about twelve kilometers north-west, and Bort- les- Orgues about 16 kilometers south-west.

Neighboring municipalities of Saint -Bonnet- près- Bort are Saint- Étienne- aux- Clos in the north, Thalamy in the east, Margerides and Saint- Victour in the south, Veyrières in the southwest as well as Saint- Exupéry -les -Roches in the West.

Traffic

The village is located about 17 kilometers south of exit 24 of the A89 autoroute.

Economy

The aerodrome Aerodrome d' Ussel - Thalamy, operated by the Chambre de commerce et d'industrie de Tulle et Ussel (Industry and Commerce Tulle and Ussel ), is located half way to Ussel on the municipalities of Saint- Exupéry -les- Roches and Saint- Bonnet- près- Bort.

Attractions

  • The church of Saint -Bonnet -de- Clermont, a Romanesque ecclesiastical architecture from the 12th century, is classified as a monument historique since 15 March 1972. The church contains interesting figures of saints from the 17th century.
