Schadau Castle

Schadau Castle is a castle south of the outflow of the river Aare from Lake Thun in the city of Thun, Canton of Bern, Switzerland.

It is in Schaudaupark, an English garden, which also includes the Wocher Panorama is set up, and was from 1846 to 1854 according to the plans of Pierre -Charles Dusillon ajar in a historicist mixed style of Tudor Gothic style and the Loire castles neo for Bankers Abraham Denis Alfred de Rougemont built on the site of an old country estate.

Since 1925 it belongs to the city of Thun and now houses a restaurant and the Swiss Gastronomy Museum. In the years 1972 to 1992, the castle facades have been renovated by the city's own Steinhauer Equipe.
