Shields is a Belgian municipality located in the province of Antwerp and has 19,472 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2012). It lies on the eastern edge of the Antwerp agglomeration north of the Albert Canal and includes the districts shields and 's- Gravenwezel.

The city center of Antwerp more than twelve kilometers to the west and about 45 kilometers south of Brussels. The nearest motorway exits are Ranst at the A21 / E 34 and Wommelgem on the A13. In Antwerp is the nearest station with also regional trains and near the town is located to the Antwerp airport the next Regional Airport.
