Straden is a municipality with 958 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2013 ) in the southeast of Styria in the district of Southeastern Styria. From 1 January 2015, is the framework of the Styrian municipality structural reform with the market town of Straden and the communities Krusdorf and yard together with Straden, the new community will continue to use the name " Straden ".

Geography
Geographical Location
Straden located approximately 60 km south-east of Graz, about 20 km south of the city field creek in East Styrian Hill Country. South borders the municipality of Straden.

The council consists of 15 members and has been working for the municipal elections in 2010, mandates the following parties together:
Mayor
Mayor of the municipality is the main school principal Karl Lenz ( ÖVP), which is already in its third term of office. The predecessor of his office are Anton Koller ( ÖVP ) and Friedrich Haas ( ÖVP).

Specialty
In Straden the so-called House of the volcanoes was built in 2003. There specialties are cooked from the Styrian volcano land in the restaurant lava. In addition, the community offers numerous taverns offering local specialties.
