Südalinn
Südalinn (in German about "Heart of the City" ) is a district (Estonian asum ) of the Estonian capital Tallinn. It is located in the district Kesklinn ( "downtown" ), located in the city center of Tallinn.
Description
Südalinn has 132 inhabitants (as of 1 May 2010).
In Südalinn are important institutions of the Estonian capital, including the Estonian National Opera, the Eesti Draamateater (formerly " Deutsches Theater " ), the Bank of Estonia ( Eesti Pank ), the Sokos Hotel Viru, the modern shopping center Viru Keskus and the German Gymnasium ( Tallinna Inglise Kolledž ).
The 1985 completed training and congress center Sakala was torn down in 2007. In its place, the mall Solaris, which opened its doors in October 2009, was born. It houses a Concert Hall and the Cultural Cinema Artis.
