Taufers im Münstertal

Tubre (Italian Tubre, Romansh door ) with 965 inhabitants (as at 31 December 2012) is the westernmost community in South Tyrol in Italy and is situated at 1250 m above sea level. The municipality forms the entrance to Munster and extends from the Calven Meadows in the east to the Swiss border in the west. The Munster is geographically part of the Vinschgau and is about 25 km long. Approximately one-third of the valley is located in South Tyrol, the rest in Switzerland. Through the valley flows the Rambach, which flows near Glurns into the Adige. Tures i.m. adjacent to the cadastral Laatsch (municipality times ) and the community Glurns in the east, to the cadastral Lichtenberg (municipality Prato allo Stelvio ) and the municipality of Stelvio in the southeast and south and southwest to the northwest of Switzerland.

The main town Tures is a long-drawn street village and, although he is currently only about 700 inhabitants, about 1.5 km long. In this part of the community all public facilities, such as school, municipal office, medical clinic, parish church, almost all pubs and shops. At the beginning of the main town there is also the St. John's Church, whose origins are dating back to the 9th century.

Rifair is divided into two hamlets: Unterrifair ( Rifair ) and Oberrifair ( Schlossoir ). While Unterrifair is again elongated between the Rambach, the main waters of the Münstertal and the foot of the mountain, Oberrifair is more like a scattered village.

Puntweil was originally a real pile village that has been torn lately, shrank as well as its people together. The settlement on the border is a real new settlement, which is used almost exclusively to the trade with foreign countries and the limit operation. It was established after the First World War as there administrative buildings, barracks and two inns were built.

Tella is a group of farms lying on südexponierter over the valley. The residents of the farms operate there exclusively Agriculture: Baustadelhof ( 1,370 m ), Courtyard ( 1509 m), Kasparethof ( 1534m - burned down 1985), Bachhof ( 1558 m), Gandhof ( 1671 m), Egghof (1723 m) and Sommhof ( 1802 m - 1939 burnt down ). On this slope the castles Rotund and Reichenberg were built at the beginning of the Middle Ages.

The total area of the municipality is on the Italian territory is 4603 ha, of which about 350 ha are currently being intensively, ie as fields or meadows used. Furthermore, the municipality has Tures i.m. still about 42.5 ha of forest and pasture land beyond the state border in the adjacent municipality Müstair in Switzerland.
