Tim Walz

Tim Walz ( real name Timothy Walz, born April 6, 1964 in West Point, Cuming County, Nebraska) is an American politician. Since 2007 he is a member of the U.S. House of Representatives as a Democrat member for the 1st Congressional District of the State of Minnesota.

Life

At the age of 17 years was rolling a member of the National Guard, in which he served a total of 24 years. After completing his studies to become a teacher at Chadron State College in 1989, his Harvard University offered the opportunity to teach as part of an educational program in the People's Republic of China. He was soon exposed to sanctions by the Chinese government in 1990 and returned back to the United States. Most recently, he worked as a high school teacher in Mankato.

Rolling part of the Democratic - Farmer-Labor Party on. Since he was involved with the National Guard in the use Operation Enduring Freedom, he speaks out in contrast to many other Democratic politicians against a rapid withdrawal from Iraq, although he also sees a change of course in Iraq policy is necessary.

In the 2006 congressional elections Walz sat in the 1st Congressional District of Minnesota with 53 percent of the vote against Republican incumbent Gil Gutknecht and by 2007 is a member of the U.S. House of Representatives since January. In 2008 he was re-elected with 62.5 percent of the vote.

Roll has two children together with his wife Gwen.
