Travenbrück

Travenbrück ( Low German Travenbrüch ) is a municipality in the district Stormarn in Schleswig-Holstein. Neverstaven, Nütschau, Schlamersdorf, Sühlen, Tralau and Vinzier lie in the municipality.

History

The community Travenbrück established on 1 January 1978 with the merger of the former municipalities and Tralau Travelodge mountain.

Policy

Of the 13 seats in the municipal council voters Community AWGT since the municipal election 2008, seven seats and the CDU and the SPD have three seats.

Culture and sights

In the list of cultural monuments in Travenbrück are registered in the list of monuments of Schleswig- Holstein cultural monuments.

In the district Nütschau the 450-year old mansion is used as a Benedictine monastery. The monastery was founded after the Second World War under the Archbishop Wilhelm Berning of Osnabrück. This was the first new in Northern Germany since the Reformation. Since 1971 the Exerzitenhaus St. Ansgar is part of the monastery.

The mansion in Tralau, the 1894 Major Alexander Jenischhaus erected, is remarkable by combining Renaissance and Art Nouveau.

Neverstaven was a Grange of goods Tralau. Today's Good falls on mainly through the wall that surrounds the 3 -acre grounds of the estate.

Near the hamlet Neverstaven is a large telecommunications tower.

Personalities

In Neverstaven the real estate merchant Johann Anton Wilhelm was born of Carstenn. This Grange he acquired in 1865, sold it on a year later.
