Valiergues

Valiergues ( Valhèrgues in Occitan ) is a commune of 143 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the department of Corrèze, in the Limousin region. The municipality is a member of the Association of Municipalities Ussel - Meymac - Haute- Corrèze.

Geography

The municipality is located in the Massif Central from the south Millevaches Plateau and the Regional Natural Park Millevaches en Limousin, near the Diège a right tributary of the Dordogne.

Tulle, prefecture of the department is located, about 60 kilometers south-west, about 9 kilometers north Ussel and Bort- les- Orgues about 25 kilometers southeast.

Neighboring communities of Valiergues are Mestes the north and east, Chirac -Bellevue in the east, Palisse in the southwest as well as Saint-Angel in the west and northwest.

Traffic

The village is located about 8 kilometers south-east of junction 23 of the A89 autoroute.

Coat of arms

Description: Azure, holding down the golden rafters; beseitet about this a silver crescent moon lying, of two golden keys with a quatrefoil Ride with the beard to the right. The right place is red-gold geschacht and covers a key after the Ride. Under the rafters a golden sun with face.

Symbolism: The red-gold Geschachte in place is an indication of the house Ventadour.
