Vitaly Scherbo

Wital Schtscherba (Russian Vitaly Wenediktowitsch Shcherbo; referred to as Vitaly Scherbo in the German press; born January 13, 1972 in Minsk, Soviet Union ) is a retired Belarusian gymnast.

Sporting successes

Schtscherba took part in the Olympic Games in Barcelona ( 1992) and Atlanta (1996). Overall, he won six gold medals and four bronze medals (10 medals) at the Olympics. He is in the all-time best list at No. 22 (as of 2012) and the most successful athlete at the Olympic Games in Barcelona. In addition to Olympic glory he was eight times European champion and ten -time world champion. He was voted European Sportsman of the Year 1992. 2009 Wital Schtscherba was inducted into the International Gymnastics Hall of Fame.
