Rodì Milici

Rodì Milici is a municipality in the Province of Messina in the Italian region Sicily, with 2068 inhabitants ( 31 December 2012).

Location and data

Rodì Milici located 48 km west of Messina. The inhabitants mainly work in agriculture (citrus, olives and wine). The community Rodì Milici is divided into two parts: Rodì on the left bank of the creek Patri, further south is Milici on the right bank of the creek Patri.

The neighboring municipalities are Antillo, Castro Reale, Fondachelli - Fantina, Mazzarrà Sant'Andrea Novara di Sicilia and Terme Vigliatore.

History

The founding Rodì Milici is unknown. Probably Teutonic Order of St. John received the City of Frederick II and named after the Greek island of Rhodes. The origin of the Crusaders to have been Rhodes.
