22nd Independent Spirit Awards
The ceremony of the 21st Independent Spirit Awards took place on 4 March 2006 and was hosted by Sarah Silverman.
Summary
With two wins in the categories of Best Picture and Director is Ang Lee's tragic love story Brokeback Mountain prevailed. The most successful film with three victories was Bennett Miller's Capote drama. In the other categories performer sat down with Felicity Huffman ( Transamerica ), Matt Dillon ( Crash ) and Amy Adams ( Junebug ) also carried nominated for an Oscar actor. Losers were George Clooney's media drama Good Night, and Good Luck. (only one award ) and Noah Baumbach's comedy drama The Squid and the Whale ( The Squid and the Whale ) and Tommy Lee Jones ' The Three Burials of Melquiades Western Estrada: four nominations and no price. Fatih Akın was able to counter the wall is not penetrated against Hany Abu-Assad controversial film Paradise Now. Werner Herzog's documentary Grizzly Man succumbed to the Oscar-nominated film Enron: The Smartest Guys in the Room.
