Albisola Superiore

Albisola Superiore ( in Ligurian: D' ato d' Arvissêua ) is a town with 10,350 inhabitants (as of 31 December 2012) in the Italian region of Liguria. Politically, it is located in the province of Savona. Together with Albissola Marina, the city is known for its ceramic products.

Geography

The core area of Albisola Superiore is split into two parts. Above the line, one kilometer from the Ligurian Sea, is the capital of Albisola Superiore. Below, however, is the original town, which is also known as Il Capo or Albisola Capo. There also lies the settlement Ellera. The mean distance to the provincial capital Savona is five kilometers.

Worth mentioning is the location of one quarter of Albisola Capo, which is located a few feet below sea level. From Albisola Capo performs a wide promenade along a sandy beach as far as Albissola Marina.

Since 2004 Albisola Superiore has been awarded every year in a row the Blue Flag, which characterizes a particularly high quality of the beach. The city is also the owner Bandiera Verde and belongs to the Comunità Montana del Giovo and to Associazione Italiana Città della Ceramica ( to German: Italian Association of Ceramics cities).
