Badalucco

Badalucco ( in Ligurian: Badalüccu ) is a municipality with 1165 inhabitants ( 31 December 2012) in the northern Italian region of Liguria. Politically it belongs to the province of Imperia.

Geography

Badalucco is located in the central portion of the Argentina Valley. Nearby is the Rocca di San Nicolò. The medieval area, at the Argentina center comprises typical stone houses which are separated by narrow streets and small squares. Characteristic are also the two, located on the access roads to the center, bridges from the late Middle Ages.

Badalucco is part of the Comunità Montana Argentina Armea.

According to the Italian classifications for seismic activity, the community of Zone 2 has been assigned. This means that Badalucco situated in a seismically active zone moderate to strong.

Climate

The climate is despite the proximity to the Ligurian Sea of continental type with sultry summer and the cold, wet winter days. Causes is this climate of the narrowness of the Argentina Valley that does not allow penetration of sea breezes.
