Börrstadt

Börrstadt is a municipality in the Thunder Mountain district in Rhineland- Palatinate. It belongs to the municipality Winnweiler.

Geography

The place is located in the North Palatine Uplands between the Thunder Mountain to the north and the Palatinate Forest in the south.

To Börrstadt includes the residential places Hahnweilerhof, Herfingerhof, Kreuzhof, Lindenhof, Mühlbusch, Sonnenhof, Theresienhof, Walzhof, Bahnwärterhaus eels creek, forest house Börrstadt and Waldhaus Klausenberg.

History

Börrstadt was first mentioned on February 10, 891 as Birensceidt. In the 15th century, the town was divided into upper and Niederbörrstadt. Only after the French Revolution, the places were reunited.

Parish council

The local council in Börrstadt consists of twelve council members, who were elected at the municipal election held on 7 June 2009 by majority vote, and the honorary mayor as chairman location.

Coat of arms

The coat of arms was granted in 1931.

Culture and sights

The Catholic Church of St. Nicholas was built in 1800. Beside her stands a stone cross from 1752. The Grade II listed house in the forest Hahnweilerhof was built in 1737 at the time of the Habsburgs. Near the Hahnweiler courtyard are six grave mounds from the time of 800-400 BC

Directly northeast of the Börrstadt A passes 63 (Kaiserslautern - Mainz).

The former railway station of the railway in Zellertalstraße Börrstadt was abandoned. In Winnweiler is the nearest railway station of Alsenztalbahn.
