Brebotte

Brebotte ( Engl.: "Brother Bach" ) is a commune with 343 inhabitants ( 1 January 2011) in the department of Territoire de Belfort in the Franche -Comté. The inhabitants are (it) called Brebottais.

Geography

Brebotte between Recouvrance and Autrechêne twelve kilometers southeast of Belfort on the Canal du Rhone au Rhin in the Valley of Bourbeuse near the watershed between the Rhine and the Rhone. The creek flows through the municipal area ecrevisse.

History

In 1105 the village was first mentioned in records. She was then called Bourbot, which is probably of Boirbe or Boirbet, derived patois for " muddy place ".

Policy

Brebotte part of the community association Communauté de communes du Bassin de la Bourbeuse.

The coat of arms of the municipality is silver, shown with an azure blue central bar, on the three golden coins. The silver color represents the stream ecrevisse and the mill Fleury, the blue bar symbolizes the virtue of justice. The three golden coins ( Besant ) represent a tithe, which allowed the reconstruction of the church in 1660.

Attractions

An original mill was already on the Cassinikarte from the 18th century. It was rebuilt around 1860. The actual mill is flanked by residential buildings and stables. The residential building bears the date 1858 and the stables of the year 1861. The mill itself was modernized in 1960, it was among other things a new plan sifter fitted. The grain mill Fleury ( named after the owner ) has existed since 1854 and presented the work 1997. The mill is now closed, but the last miller still lives there.

Economy and infrastructure

There is a kindergarten and a primary school in Brebotte. The Craft Museum in Brebotte also houses a library.

The image of the church is dominated by forests, meadows and fields. There was a mill until 1997 and is still a sawmill on site.

The nearest train station SNCF is five kilometers away in the town of Montreux -Chateau. It is served by trains of the railway line from Mulhouse to Belfort.
