Lacollonge

Lacollonge is a town in the French department of Territoire de Belfort in the Franche -Comté.

Geography

Lacollonge is located on 360 m above sea level, approximately eight kilometers east-northeast of the town of Belfort ( a straight line ). The village is located in the northern part of the Burgundian Gate, on the plateau in the foothills of the Vosges, in the wide opening at the stream of the Madeleine.

The area of ​​1.92 km ² municipal area includes a portion of the weakly in relief landscape in the Burgundian Gate ( trouée de Belfort ). The central part of the area is traversed in a north-south direction of the Madeleine, which moves in a 1 km wide valley and provides drainage to the south over the Bourbeuse to Allaine. The surface is partly covered with arable and meadow land with some woods. To the west, the municipality's area covers the plateau Menoncourt, east on the hill of the Grove Fahy. Here the highest elevation of Lacollonge is achieved with 381 m.

Neighboring communities of Lacollonge are Menoncourt and Bethonvilliers in the north, Larivière and Fontaine in the east and Phaffans the south and west.

History

The municipal area of Lacollonge a Gallic bronze helmet from the La Tène period was found ( now in the museum in Belfort ). Is first mentioned the name La Quelonge in 1196, but it is not clear whether they are traded around the present Lacollonge. Population

With 257 inhabitants ( 1 January 2011) Lacollonge one of the small communities of the department of Territoire de Belfort. After the population had clearly decreased in the first half of the 20th century (1891 140 people were still counted ), a strong population growth has been recorded since the early 1970s again. Since then, the population has more than tripled.

Economy and infrastructure

Lacollonge was until well into the 20th century a predominantly by agriculture (crops, orchards and livestock ) and forestry embossed village.
