Col d'Allos

The Col d' Allos is a mountain pass in the French department of Alpes- de -Haute -Provence. The pass is situated at 2247 m. The transition connects Barcelonette (1150 m) in the valley of Ubaye with Allos, Colmar ( 1261 m), where the road starts out on the Col des Champs, and Saint- André- les- Alpes ( 889 m).

The Col d' Allos is how the parallel north- south trade routes - Col de la Cayolle and Col de la Bonette in the Mercantour National Park, " the French Maritime Alps. Near the summit of the Verdon River, which runs later by the spectacular Grand Canyon du Verdon springs.

Tour de France

The Col d' Allos was 1911-1939 always in the Tour de France program. With 33 crossings it is one of the ten most traffic passes of the Tour de France. In recent decades, however, he was considered rare, the last time in the 13th stage of the Tour of 2000 (as of July 2010). Most recently, he was assigned in the mountains classification in category 1.
