Ecatzingo is a municipality in the Mexican state of México. It belongs to the Zona Metropolitana del Valle de México, the metropolitan region around Mexico City.

The seat of the municipality and its largest city is Ecatzingo de Hidalgo, another larger towns are San Juan and San Marcos Tlacotompa Tecomaxusco. The community had in 2010 9.369 inhabitants, the area of the municipios amounts to 50.8 km ².

Geography

Ecatzingo de Hidalgo is located in the extreme southeast of the state of México, located about 60 km southeast of the center of Mexico City, about 50 kilometers east of Cuernavaca and about 10 km southwest of Popocatépetl.

The municipality is bordered to the north and west by Atlautla and the east and south of the state of Morelos.
