Jaltenco is a municipality in the Mexican state of México. It belongs to the Zona Metropolitana del Valle de México, the metropolitan region around Mexico City. The seat of the municipality is the same Jaltenco. The municipality had in the year 2010 26.328 inhabitants, its surface area is 4.7 km ².

Geography

The municipality consists of two unconnected parts, a northern to the administrative headquarters Jaltenco, located between the Municipalities Zumpango and Nextlalpan, with about 11,000 inhabitants, and about 10 km to the south to Alborada Jaltenco with about 15,000 inhabitants, of the Municipalities Tecámac, Ecatepec de Morelos, Coacalco de Berriozábal, Tultitlán and Tonanitla is surrounded.

Jaltenco located in the north of the state of Mexico, about 30 km north of Mexico City.
