Axapusco

Axapusco is a municipality in the Mexican state of México. It belongs to the Zona Metropolitana del Valle de México, the metropolitan region around Mexico City. The seat of the municipality is the same Axapusco, the largest villages in the municipality of Santa María, however Jaltepec and Aticpac. The community had in 2010 25.559 inhabitants, its surface area is 232.1 km ².

Geography

Axapusco located in the north of the State of Mexico, about 50 km northeast of Mexico City.

The municipality borders the Municipalities Temascalapa, Nopaltepec, Otumba and San Martín de las Piramides, as well as to the state of Hidalgo.
