The 19 Euro Vision Song Contest took place in the English seaside resort of Brighton on 6 April 1974. The BBC jumped in a host after last year's winner Luxembourg had renounced a new edition of the competition. The event was broadcast in 32 countries. The English TV presenter Katie Boyle hosted the Euro Vision Song Contest for the fourth time.
