List of cities in Burkina Faso

The list of cities in Burkina Faso provides an overview of the development of the population of the larger cities of the West African country of Burkina Faso.

By far the largest agglomeration in Burkina Faso is Ouagadougou, with a population of 1,523,980 ( 2006 census ). Thus, eleven percent of the country's population is concentrated in the capital region.

The following table lists the cities with more than 10,000 inhabitants, and the results of censuses ( VZ ) of 10 December 1985 December 10, 1996 and 9 December 2006. Listed is also the province and region, to which the city belongs. The population figures refer to the respective urban settlement - the geographical area the city - not the city or municipality in the political sense.
