Ouderkerk

Ouderkerk ( listen? / I ) is a municipality in the Netherlands, South Holland province. It consists of the villages Ouderkerk aan den IJssel (where the administrative center ) and Gouderak.

Ouderkerk aan de Amstel ( North Holland ) is one of Amstelveen.

Location and economic

The two villages are located immediately east of Krimpen aan den IJssel on the south bank of the Hollandse IJssel, opposite Moordrecht and Nieuwerkerk aan den IJssel. The bus Rotterdam - Gouda goes through the two places that neither highway nor the railway line. There are ferries to Moordrecht and Nieuwerkerk aan den IJssel. The population is partly Member strict Calvinist churches and therefore more conservative.

There are some wood wholesalers and transport companies. Next are agriculture and inland waterways of importance.

History

Ouderkerk aan den IJssel and Gouderak originated in the 13th century. Gouderak had its own jurisdiction to the 17th century. The flood of 1953 has mainly Ouderkerk badly damaged.
